Our mission statement.
To Know Jesus, To Become Like Jesus, and Live Brave Through Jesus Together.

Brave Church is built on the conviction that when you truly encounter Jesus, not just know about Him but actually experience His presence, something in you changes that cannot be undone. You see Him rightly. And when you see Him rightly, you cannot stay quiet.

That is where the bravery comes from. Not from a program or a pastor. From Jesus Himself. Because the same Jesus who transforms you is the Jesus who sends you. He said it plainly: go and make disciples of all nations. That commission was not given to a building or a Sunday service. It was given to every person who has encountered Him.

Jesus is the good news. Knowing Him is not the end of the journey. It is the beginning of a life uncompromisingly devoted to bringing Him to the people in your everyday world. Your street. Your workplace. Your family.

We are not here to offer a Sunday experience. We are here to be a community of people so captured by Jesus that living brave, sharing Him, following Him, becoming like Him, is simply what life looks like.

Meet Our Pastors

The pastors of Brave Church carry one passion above everything else: to see every person in this family make Jesus their first love and live that love out in how they love the people around them. They are not here to do the ministry for you. They are here to equip you to do it yourself.

Lead Pastor

Judah van Staden

Judah van Staden is the Lead Pastor of Brave Church. He carries this role with genuine conviction and a deep love for people, but what marks Judah most is how he preaches. His gift is taking the Word of God and bringing it down to earth, not to make it smaller, but to make it liveable. Every Sunday message is built so that you can walk out with something real: a truth you understand, a step you can take, and a week that looks different because of it.

But Judah's heart goes beyond the message. He wants every believer to leave knowing they are capable of far more than they have ever imagined. Not through their own strength, but through a daily surrender to the Holy Spirit. Judah believes that when a person stops limiting themselves to what they can do and starts trusting what God can do through them, everything changes. That conviction shapes everything he preaches and everything he pours into this church family.

Co-Lead Pastor

Lee van Staden

Lee van Staden grew up in ministry and has known nothing else but a life laid down for God's people. Serving is not something Lee does. It is who she is. Her one pursuit has always been to see every person know Jesus deeply and intimately, not from a distance, but through real relationship.

Lee believes that inside the church of Jesus Christ you do not just find community. You find your calling and your purpose through serving others. Week to week she leads worship with one desire: to take people beyond singing songs and into a genuine encounter with the presence of Jesus. That love for worship flows into her home, where she considers her four children her first and most sacred ministry.

Lee carries a gift to teach the Word with clarity and conviction. Her preaching is built on Scripture and a life surrendered to what God actually said, not inspired sayings or self-help ideas that can never measure up. Her teaching carries a prophetic edge and she is deeply motivated to see women take hold of their God-given voice and preach the good news of Jesus to every corner of their world.

The Van Staden Family

Judah and Lee van Staden have been married for 19 years. Together they are raising four children who carry names as bold as the calling on their lives: Reign (17), Knightly (13), Serenity (9), and Daring (7).
